I'm proud to announce a total overhaul of Presta Theme Maker!

There has been many changes:
- Added support for Prestashop 1.7
- A brand new editor for creating your PS 1.7 themes
- We have also started offering Prestashop 1.7 modules
- Presta Theme Maker has a new member
- Added SSL certificate
- A redesign of the website

I would like to say a couple of words about each of these points:

Added support for Prestashop 1.7

Prestashop 1.7 was announced months ago, so this is surely no surprise. It's a new system with some great improvements, and the visual part is much more appealing in comparison to Prestashop 1.6.

On the other hand, upgrading from 1.6 will be somewhat challenging. If you want to keep your current design, you might consider hiring a freelancer that can help you with the process.
(Or you can create a fresh new theme on Theme Maker! :)

If you have been running Prestashop 1.6 for a longer time, I recommend sticking with that version until Prestashop 1.7.1.0 comes out.

Why?

Because the upgrade process should already be solved by then and will be more reliable.

On the other hand, if you are just about to open your e-shop or if you are ok to upgrade and start again with a new theme and modules, I would recommend Prestashop 1.7 because that is the future!

A brand new editor for creating your PS 1.7 themes

I'm very excited about our new editor! There's a lot potential of how to improve the settings in the future, and I will continue working on enhancements.

So what has improved exactly?
First of all, it's much easier to understand the settings and quicker to navigate. I have added short descriptions to many of the color pickers so that you can easily spot the elements you are setting.

You can also set a precise value of margin/padding which was not possible with the old editor.

The current editor is also more modular, and it's easier to add more settings while maintaining the logical structure.

Full screen mode is also handy!

We have also started offering Prestashop 1.7 modules

We have created the first ten front-end modules. And the best part is that they will be a part of your downloaded theme ZIP. That means these modules will be automatically added into your e-shop while installing your theme; it doesn't get any easier than that!

You can even style them in the editor, so you don't have to worry about compatibility. If you wish to use the modules with themes from other developers, this is also possible.

These modules would not be here, if I hadn't teamed up with a talented guy from Morocco, Yassine.

Theme Maker’s new member

Four months ago, I had the idea of offering modules but was too busy working on the editor and redesigning the website.
I was lucky to find Yassine who has developed most of the great modules we offer now. He is passionate about programming, and the Prestashop modules look beautiful not only from the outside but also in the code. We already have plans for future modules.

SSL certificate

This might sound a bit more technical, but it basically means that all activity done on Presta Theme Maker is protected and that using the website should be faster now.

A new design for the website

My special surprise! Presta Theme Maker had the same design for four years (yes, we are consistent) and I liked it as it didn't have the feeling of a typical site. But when I started building the new editor, I realized that the old design lacked a professional edge, and change was inevitable.

My ultimate goal for Presta Theme Maker is to have it become a place where you can find everything you need when starting your new e-shop: a beautiful theme, useful plugins, and support.

We will do our best!

Cheers,

Andrej
