Dear friends,

It's been a while since I wrote a blog post about the development of the project. Let me quickly summarize the evolution of this website.

PrestaBuilder: The history of this project

September 9th, 2012 - was released!
It was a fantastic time! After around three months of programming, the project was finally online. I still remember the amazing feeling when I received my first 10 dollars from the first registration.
I created the first editor that produced responsive Prestashop themes.

February 17th, 2013 - was moved to
A lawyer from Prestashop wrote us an email that our domain name violates their trademark. There was no any other choice than moving to a new domain,

April 1st, 2014 - Added support for Prestashop 1.6
There were only minor improvements, but we always made sure we support the latest versions of Prestashop and that we fix all bugs that our customers report.

November 13th, 2014 - hacked and copied
One of our customers reported us a website that offered the same service as ours and even the design was very similar. Thomas from stole our website and started offering it as its own. After our conversation, he closed the website.

December 1st, 2016 - new editor + new design
Since this moment, things started to move faster. At the end of 2016, we added support for Prestashop 1.7, redesigned the website, added SSL. Also, a new programmer, Yassine Belkaid from Morroco, joined our team and we started offering modules for Prestashop 1.7.

September 16th, 2017 - new design and logo and name!

It all started as a redesign, but soon we realized that the website needs a bigger update to keep it up-to-date. domain was too long to type or remember. felt just better.
With the new name, we came up with a new logo and the design. is now!

33 000+ created themes, 4000+ customers, support for 3 versions of Prestashop, 18 modules (and counting). When I'm thinking about this journey it was and is a great experience. It was not perfect and many things could have been done better. On the other hand, I believe that everything has its reason and timing.

Since we added support for Prestashop 1.7, we have fixed hundreds of bugs and added hundreds of settings. At the moment, the PS 1.7 editor offers over 700+ various settings.

Plans for the future

Adding more premade theme is the #1 on our TODO list. Then it's adding more modules for Prestashop 1.7. Those are the short-term goals.

Our longterm goal is to give you everything necessary when starting a new eshop:

  • a great theme
  • important modules
  • useful information
  • support in case of problems

Thank you and feel free to contact me in the chat! :)
